Who We Are
West Side Church seeks to be a caring fellowship where people are called to respond to the love of Jesus Christ and are challenged to grow toward Christian maturity, to worship God, to proclaim the Gospel, to make disciples, and to minister to the world through the power of the Holy Spirit and the authority of Holy Scriptures.

History of West Side
West Side Church is a United Protestant church. This is a legacy of the time during World War II when Richland was a "closed" government town. In addition to owning all of the housing, certain services were provided for residents, similar to a military base. Part of those services were churches-one Catholic and one Protestant. As the town grew, the Protestant church divided into four separate congregations, each affiliated with a different denomination-Central (Methodist), Southside (Baptist), West Side (Presbyterian) and Northwest (Disciples of Christ). Thus the United Protestant connection came about. Members of any of the congregations can join as Presbyterian, Baptist, Methodist, Disciples of Christ, Friends, or United Church of Christ. Although West Side's ties to the Presbyterian Church have strengthened over the years, the diversity of different denominational affiliations has continued and enriches our congregation today.
